IEEE Seattle Section Summer Family Picnic

Please join us for the IEEE Seattle Section Summer Family Picnic. This is a chance to get together and meet your fellow IEEE members and to say thanks to the families who have allowed us to be involved in IEEE. The picnic will again be held at Bellevue's Downtown Park Picnic Area. The event is free but please RSVP to let us know you are coming. Family and perspective members are welcome. There will be food, drinks, fun and an opportunity to win prizes.

The IEEE Seattle Section is doing a Call for Nominations for the 2011 Section Officers.  These officer positions include the following:
Chair
Vice-Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
All positions consist of a one year term lasting from January 1st to December 31st.  All candidates must be an IEEE member of Graduate Student Member, Member, Senior Member or Fellow grade.  Self nominations are accepted by the committee.
The following is a brief description of the some duties required by each position:
The Section Chair shall serve as Chair for all meetings of the Section, the Section Committee and the Section ExCom where such ExCom exists. 
The Section Vice Chair shall assist the Chair in the coordination of all Section activities. At the request of the Section Chair or in the absence of the Section Chair, the Section Vice Chair shall chair meetings of the Section, Section Committee or Section ExCom. 
The duties of the Section Secretary shall include correspondence, the keeping of the minutes of the Committee meetings, mailing notices, and submission of meeting and officer reports to the Member and Geographic Activities Department at the end of each year and such other duties as are assigned to him/her by the Chair. 
The duties of the Section Treasurer shall include the development of a Section budget for approval by the Section, accounting of all Section funds, keeping financial records, and submitting the Financial Operations Report of the Section to the IEEE Staff Director of Financial Services.
