Chair’s Report - John Nierenberg:

The
Engineering Fair was a big success. The model city got lots of attention.
Northcon – Rob Tiplin – not present
Vice Chair’s Report - Sheri Rees
·
Spring
Banquet proceeding apace: May 18 is locked in. Sheri passed out sample menus
from which we needed to pick one.
·
The
same jazz band we had last time at St. Michelle can come again.
·
We
discussed maximum size and what kind of agenda we wished to follow.
·
Washington
Awards will be contacted about making awards for the banquet.
Secretary’s Report - Al Moser
·
Last
month’s minutes were approved as received.
·
The
meeting report form was sent in, but a little late.
Treasurer’s Report - Rich Christie
·
The
financial reporting forms were sent in on time.
·
A
discussion was held about the separate EMC society account.
·
Audit
materials are in the hands of Joe Blaschka.
·
A
budget report was passed out.
PACE Report - Steve Brown – not present
Standing Chair Report - Karen Pavletich
·
Karen
got no response to the request for award nominations in the DataLink. Leann
Kostek sent information about nominations for Region VI awards.
·
Judging
went pretty well on the Future Cities competition.
Chapter Reports
·
AP,MTT
– Tom Raschko reported on past meetings and previewed upcoming April 19 meeting
on optimization of embedded antenna design and May 17 meeting on 3D modeling of
high speed, dense packages. Tom has agreed to be operations chair of IMS2002 in
Seattle and needs a person to be student liaison.

IA
– Michael Case reported on an upcoming April 15 meeting on the 50 MW mobile
generator at Tacoma City Light. There will also be an upcoming meeting on
flywheel technology

OE
– Sheri Rees reported on a meeting discussing a new boat being built for
education purposes.
·
COM
– Joe Decuir is working on getting together a talk on multiple transmission
standards, including Bluetooth, which will involve bringing in a distinguished
speaker.
Student Chapters -
·
UW
– Curtis Lu discussed the plans for the pizza feed on April 19. A successful
ice cream social and gaming night was held. April 20 will be their tech expo.
Old Business - none
New Business –
We chose St. Michelle sample menu C. Price to attendees will be $35 until April
15, then $40 thereafter.
