| Abstract: |
This talk intends to give an overview of a new class of "engineered" material called metamaterial. First, some basic concepts including metamaterial unit cells and negative index are introduced.
Constitutive material parameters such as permittivity and permeability of conventional naturally-occurring material and metamaterial are compared.
Design examples and applications at RF / microwave frequencies are presented.
